January 01, 2020 - Ghost of a Playboy
On January first 2010, I walked down the street from my house and took a photo of the Latin Playboy bar. Even then the bar had seen its best days, decades before. Now, ten years after my last photo it has gotten a small face lift that was not enough to cover the history it holds. You can still see the shadow outline of the letters it once prominently displayed. I wanted to start 2020 at this spot because I am going to do what I did back in 2010. It’s the ten year anniversary of my 365 day photoshoot. The project that started it all for me. On that day I simply walked to this same spot and started a year of photography that still affects what I do today. So here we go again. 2020 will be my second 365 photo series. Wish me luck! This time I hope you all follow along with me as I photograph Los Angeles. As much of it as I can. Follow the hashtag #LALA2020. Hope to see you as I walk around the streets.
